TRACK & FIELD

• Athletes may enter up to three (3) events
• Events may be no more than 2 running events and 1 field event OR 2 field events and 1 running event

*Hammer does not count towards two throwing events*

• The specific schedule will not be finalized until after the registration deadline when the number of athletes in each division is determined

• Competition will be finals only
• Masters athletes can choose to compete in the open or master division on an event by event basis. However, athletes cannot enter the same event in more than one division. Athletes who choose to enter events as an open or master must fill out the appropriate entry form. 

Rules

• USA Track and Field rules apply to all events
• USA Track and Field membership is not required to participate 
• If certain events are not allowed for athletes in their age group, they may move up one division in order to compete in that event. In this instance athletes will be competing as an athlete in the older age group, they will not be scored separately 
• An athlete cannot move up a division if the event is offered in the division in which they are eligible

The Bay State Games track and field meet will be sanctioned meets by USA Track and Field. The sanction number for the 2022 Bay State Games Track and Field competition will be posted when it is received. 

The 2021 Bay State Games Track & Field competition serves as a qualifier for the 2022 State Games of America. All medalists (gold, silver, and bronze) in this event will qualify for the 2022 State Games of America in Ames and Des Moines, Iowa.  

The 2022 State Games of America will be hosted by the Iowa Games, Ames Convention & Visitors Bureau and Catch Des Moines.
