The 2025 Bay State Games Paddling competition is an ocean-based course designed specifically for surfskis and outrigger canoes. (Location of course 2025 TBD) Final course determination to be made on race day, based on conditions.
Starting Format: Competitors will line up boats at the starting line. Race officials will announce a five-minute warning, a one-minute warning, and a countdown to start. Category-based starting heat may be employed, depending on field size.
Finishing Format: Competitors will exit boats upon returning to the beach and proceed to the check-out area, which will be clearly indicated with signage and/or flags. Race officials will collect wristbands from competitors at the check-out area.
