Eligibility

  • Participants must be age 10+ ON EVENT DAY
  • Open to athletes who live OR go to school in MA, ME, VT, NH, CT, RI, NY.

Definitions

Game - An individual game of 5 minutes. 3 games make up one match.

Match - consists of best 2 out of 3 games. All participants are guaranteed 3 matches

A - Higher Level (8 teams)

B - Lower level (8 teams)


The field will be split into two divisions based on the cumulative average rank of the entire team. Each rank will be given a numerical value (See below). The total numerical value divided by 3 will determine the teams overall rank. 


1 point - Unranked

2 points - Bronze

3 points - SIlver

4 points - Gold

5 points- Platinum

6 points - Diamond

7 points - Champion

8 points - Grand Champion

9 points - Supersonic Legend


Once all teams have been ranked, the top 8 teams will play in the A division. The remaining 8 will be in the B division. B division will play in the morning session, A will play in the afternoon session.


Any ties when determining cumulative rank will be determined by the highest ranking individual member on each team. 


After the registration deadline, the ranking will be posted & teams will be informed in what group (A/B) they are in.

Non-sanctioned tournament


  • Each division will have 2 pools.
  • Round robin in pool (3 matches, best 2 of 3 games per match)

General

  • Bot Difficulty: No bots
  • Mutators: None

  • Joinable by: Name/Password

Team Settings:

  • The team listed first on the website will be the team responsible for hosting the match.
  • The team listed first on the website will be blue team.
  • Primary and accent color are to be left as default.

Team colors

  • Players may use any of the blue/green or orange/red/yellow color combinations for their respective side.
  • Players who wish to see the default colors will be responsible for enabling that setting in the menus. (Options > Interface > Force Default Team Colors)
  • Hosting team must create a name and password, and give it to their opponent.

  • Top 3 finishers receive an athlete gift (NO CASH PRIZES)
  • Medals awarded to top 3 teams
  • Streamed live event with commentary

  • State Games of America qualifier
  • By participating in BSG, participants are eligible for scholarship opportunities
  • Access to recruiting tools such as webinars, blogs, etc.


The 2025 Bay State Games Esports competition serves as a qualifier for the 2026 State Games of America. All medalists (gold, silver, and bronze) in this event will qualify for the 2026 State Games of America in State College, PA.


The 2026 State Games of America will be hosted by the Keystone State Games and Happy Valley Sports & Entertainment Alliance.
