Team Registration

A team captain will register the team as a whole. As CAPTAIN, enter your personal info, your Team Name, and Secret Team Code, then pay the entry fee for your team. As team CAPTAIN, you are registered. However, each GROUP MEMBER must also register for the event.


A link for the TEAM MEMBERS to register will be included in your registration confirmation email for you to forward to your TEAM. They should select the TEAM MEMBER registration category, select your team name, and enter the secret code you have designated.

  • Girl's High School (Scholastic): 8th - entering 12th grade 
  • Women's Collegiate: graduated 12th grade - Junior year of college 
  • Women's Open: Seniors in college and older 
  • Men's Open: Age 15+

*All ages are as of the first day of competition, and grades are of the 2024-2025 academic year

  • Each division is divided into pools
  • Teams play a minimum of three games
  • All games are 25 minutes, running time
  • All athletes enter as a team; free agents may register through emailing info@baystategames.org
  • Bay State Games can adjust the format based upon the number of teams entered

  • Competition open to teams from all MA, ME, VT, NH, CT, RI and NY
  • Athletes may move up one division but may not move down a division 
  • There are no mixed gender teams. Athletes may only participate in one division and on only one team 
  • Each team must have a minimum of six (6) and a maximum of twelve (12) players (5 players, 1 goalie, 6 substitutes)
  • Each team may have one coach 
  • Goalies must wear a helmet in all divisions
  • All scholastic teams must have their own goalkeeper with regulation equipment.  Scholastic teams without a goalkeeper will forfeit the game. 
  • Field players who qualify for the high school division, may move up a division. All other field players must play within the division they qualify for. 
  • Due to the difficulty open teams have had with securing goalies, goalies who qualify for the collegiate division, are eligible to play in the Open division BUT CANNOT PLAY IN BOTH. Open teams that wish to utilize this option must contact the BSG office to receive a waiver of approval. *THIS ONLY APPLIES TO THE COLLEGE/OPEN DIVISION. GOALIES ELIGIBLE FOR THE SCHOLASTIC DIVISION CANNOT MOVE UP TO THE COLLEGIATE DIVISION. 
  • Goalies must remain with their team through the duration of the tournament. No goalie sharing between teams is allowed. 
  • BSG reserves the right to verify rosters throughout the tournament. 

Players are allowed to register as individuals if they do not have a team to participate on. If there are enough free agents, a free agent team will be created. Bay State Games will do everything possible to place players on a team. However, free agents are not guaranteed participation in the tournament.
