Game 1

Southeast: 87

Metro: 63

The opening game at the Jean Yawkey Center at Emmanuel College included the Southeast team taking on the Metro team. In the first half, Southeast and Metro were going shot for shot until
Sophie Bradbury (East Bridgewater, East Bridgewater HS) and Mckalah Gaine (Hanover, Hanover HS) took over in the second quarter putting Southeast up by 10. Even with Nell Sparks (Windsor School, Arlington) scoring 23 points, Metro couldn’t keep up with Southeast taking their first loss in the tournament with a score of 87-63.

Game 2

Coastal: 44

Central: 38

In the second game of the day, Central and Coastal fought through a low scoring match with Coastal taking their first win of the tournament with a score of 44-38. Coastal was led by
Haley McCarthy (Monument Beach, Tabor Academy) with 12 points. Central kept kicking until the end with Rachel Carpenter (Westborough, Westborough HS), Elizabeth Johnson (Marlborough, Marlborough HS), and Camryn Kinne (Sutton, Sutton HS) sharing the leading scorer title with 11 points each.

Game 3

West: 62

Metro: 55

In the third game, with many fouls in the second half, both teams found themselves living at the line for most of the game. Metro would go 15/26 at the charity strike, but it wouldn’t be enough to get them over the West team. Metro’s leading scorer with 18 points was
Nevaeh Sanchez Watertown, (Lexington Christian Academy). The West team led by Tessa Kawal (Amherst, Amherst Regional HS) with 17 points was able to help the West secure their first win of the tournament.

Game 4

Southeast: 77

Coastal: 37

With both teams entering the game 1-0, the stakes are high to see who will take their first loss in the tournament. Coastal found themselves unable to stop the Southeast team converting and-ones all game along with
Sophie Bradbury (East Bridgewater, East Bridgewater HS) leading Southeast to their 40 point win over Coastal with 28 points. Bradbury's teammate Natalia Hall-Rosa (Randolph, Bridgewater-Raynham Reg. HS) helped Southeast secure the win with 19 points of her own. Coastal was led by Haley McCarthy (Monument Beach, Tabor Academy) with 17 points, but it wasn't enough to defeat the Southeast team. Coastal ends the day with a 1-1 record.

Saturday, July 16
Game 5

Central: 64

West: 90

West came into this game fired up as they scored 90 points with Tessa Kawal (Amherst, Amherst Regional HS) with 25 points and Sara Hastie (Amherst, Amherst Regional HS)  adding 17 points. Central fought long and hard to stay in this game as they were only down 3 going into the second half. But Central’s Carlie Marrella (Ashland, Ashland HS) with 16 points and Kiki Fossbender (Hopkinton, Hopkinton HS) with 14 points was not enough to keep up with West. Central falls to 0-3 and West moves to 2-0.

Game 6

Metro: 69

Coastal: 49

Metro shared the rock in this matchup having four girls scoring in the double digits.
Nell Sparks (Arlington, Winsor School) and Linda Sheng (Belmont, Belmont HS) both had 14 points in their win over the now 1-2 Coastal team. Coastal in the hard fought game was led by Mia Gentile (Somerset, Somerset Berkley Reg. HS) with 15 points.

Game 7

Southeast: 67

West: 59

The two undefeated teams in the tournament look to face off and battle to keep the undefeated streak going. Southeast did not seem to slow down in this matchup. West could not keep up with
Sophie Bradbury (East Bridgewater, East Bridgewater HS) scoring 20 points and Natalia Hall-Rosa (Randolph, Bridgewater-Raynham Reg. HS) scoring 19 points. The West shared the rock well, but couldn’t keep matching shot for shot. Niyama Adadevoh (Amherst, Amherst Regional HS) had 10 points and Tessa Kawal (Amherst, Amherst Regional HS) had 12 points. Southeast would stay undefeated going 3-0 heading into the last day and West takes their first loss of the tournament to make them 2-1 at the end of day 2.

Game 8

Metro: 74

Central: 58

Metro looked to keep on winning and extend their record to 2-2 while Central looks for their first win of the tournament. Metro found themselves sharing the rock so well that every player on their team had scored. Metro was led by
Navaeh Sanchez (Watertown, Lexington Christian Academy) with 14 points who couldn’t miss from beyond the arc. Right behind her with 13 points were Cortney Howell (Dorchester, Belmont HS) and Sophia McClendon (Belmont, Chenery Middle School). Central looked promising in the first quarter, but couldn’t get Metro out of their rhythm as they fell 0-4 in the tournament. Central was led by Kiki Fossbender (Hopkinton, Hopkinton HS) with 14 points and Elizabeth Johnson (Marlborough, Marlborough HS) with 11 points.

Sunday, July 17
Game 9

Southeast: 64

Central: 58

Southeast looked to stay undefeated and move through this tournament with a flawless record. Central was looking to redeem themselves with a win over the powerhouse Southeast team. Central started off strong and went into the break up by 2 and shutting down the Southeast scorers early, but it was not enough as Southeast’s
Natalia Hall-Rosa (Randolph, Bridgewater-Raynham Reg. HS) had 17 points. Mairead Gallagher (Bridgewater, Cardinal Spellman HS) added 11 points, 8 of which came in the second half. Central was connecting from deep all game, but even with Kiki Fossbender’s (Hopkinton, Hopkinton HS)15 points and Camryn Kinne’s (Sutton, Sutton HS) 11 points from the paint, Central falls to 0-4 and is eliminated from the medal games. Southeast secured their spot in the gold medal game.

Game 10

West: 77

Coastal: 62

The outcome of this game would determine who goes for gold and who goes to bronze. West came out firing, scoring 21 in the first quarter alone, but Coastal came back and fought hard in the second quarter to only being down by 7 going into the break. West came out of the break firing on all cylinders and took Coastal by storm. Led by
Delaney MacPhetres (Amherst, Amherst Regional HS) with 25 points and going 5 for 7 at the line, West kept the scoring going. West got help from Niyama Adadevoh (Amherst, Amherst Regional HS) with 12 points. Coastal shot almost flawlessly from beyond the arc, even with makes from the men’s college line. Coastal was led by Haley McCarthy (Monument Beach, Tabor Academy) with 27 points and Jenna Micciantuono (Bridgewater, Bridgewater-Raynham Reg. HS) with 12 points. With the win, West advanced to the gold medal game. Coastal goes on to play Metro for the bronze.

Bronze Medal Game

Metro: 73

Coastal: 49

The bronze medal match up was between the 2-2 Metro team and the 1-3 Coastal team. Metro moved the ball super well and used their advantage to the tired Coastal team to roll over them in the first half going up 38-29 and holding them to only 5 points in the 3rd. Metro kicked it into gear in the second half with easy layups and mid-range jumpers through the second half. Metro was led by
Nell Sparks (Arlington, Winsor School) and Cortney Howell (Dorchester, Belmont HS) with 17 points each. Coastal had three players in double digits with Jenna Miccintuono (Bridgewater, Bridgewater-Raynham Reg. HS) with 13 points, Emerson Gonet (Fairhaven, Old Rochester Reg. HS) with 11 points, and Haley McCarthy (Monument Beach, Tabor Academy) with 10 points. Metro won 73-49 to take the bronze medal. Metro was also awarded the Sportsmanship Award presented by DICK'S Sporting Goods for displaying excellent sportsmanship throughout the tournament.

Gold Medal Game

West: 66

Southeast: 64

A rematch from the second day of the tournament, this was the game to watch. With Southeast undefeated and the West looking for redemption from their only loss in the tournament, there was a lot of tension. The West team looked promising out the gate, but had 20 team fouls in the first half alone. Southeast was unable to use this to their advantage as they went 24/41 from the line. Even with all their fouls, The West went into the break up 36-28 and seemed like they weren’t going to let the lead slip away. Southeast came back in the second half, holding the West team to only 12 points in the 3rd while scoring 21 points. Southeast went into the final quarter with the momentum up by 1 with a score of 49-48. The final quarter was electric as spectators of both teams were cheering on both teams to a victory. Southeast tried to slow the tempo down on the West team, but even with the pace on their side the West team didn’t let the nerves get to them as they took high value shots. With one minute left in the game, Southeast was unable to connect to tie the game up and West took the gold with a score of 66-64. The Southeast team was led by
Lauren Dunn (Hanson, Whitman-Hanson Reg. HS) with 15 points, Natalia Hall-Rosa (Randolph, Bridgewater-Raynham Reg. HS) with 12 points, and Eliana Jackson (East Bridgewater, Archbishop Williams HS) with 10 points as they take the silver medal. West was led by Amber Bergeron (Greenfield, Greenfield HS) with 10 points, and right behind her with 8 points a piece were Drew Alley (South Hadley, South Hadley HS), Tessa Kawal (Amherst, Amherst Regional HS), and Delaney MacPhetres (Amherst, Amherst Regional HS).
