AGE GROUP SWIMMING

Eligibility:
Athletes must also meet at least one of the criteria below:
- A full-time resident of Massachusetts
- A full-time student of a Massachusetts academic institution
- A registered member of a swimming club in Massachusetts.
Age Groups
10 & under
11-12
13-14
15-18
*All ages are as of July 31, 2021
- Meet will be timed finals
- Athletes may enter a maximum of six (6) events
- 10 & under swimmers may not sign up for 200s of stroke or distance freestyle events
- 50s of stroke are for 10 & under swimmers only.
- All participants are asked to provide events and seed times (in SCY) on their registration form
- Athletes registering online should have their event and seed time information ready before they log on to register
Below are the events offered at the Bay State Games Swimming Competition:
50 Free | 50 Back* | 50 Breast* | 50 Fly*
100 Free | 100 Back | 100 Breast | 100 Fly
200 Free | 200 Back | 200 Breast | 200 Fly
500 Free | 1000 Free | 200 IM | 400 IM
*10 & under only
Warm Up
- Warm up for first session will take place at 8:00 a.m. Check in required before warm up
- Warm up for second session is expected to begin at 12:30 p.m. (subject to change based on number of entries)
- All warm up will be open warm up with sprint lanes opening during last 10 minutes
Course
- All races will be in short course yards (SCY).
- Seeding for the meet will be based on times submitted during registraion
Rules
- No membership to any swim organization is required
- USA Swimming rules apply at the meet
- USA Swimming officials will be used at all meets
- Athletes must swim in their age group and cannot move up.
- The Bay State Games Swimming meet is a USA Swimming approved meet
New England Swimming Observations Form
The 2021 Bay State Games Swimming meet is an observed meet by New England Swimming. Registered USA Swimming members must fill out this form is and complete the payment prior to the beginning of your session if you wish to submit your times to USA Swimming.

2022 State Games of America hosted by Iowa Games
The 2021 Bay State Games Swimming competition serves as a qualifier for the 2022 State Games of America. All medalists (gold, silver, and bronze) in this event will qualify for the 2022 State Games of America in Ames and Des Moines, Iowa.
The 2022 State Games of America will be hosted by the Iowa Games, Ames Convention & Visitors Bureau and Catch Des Moines.
