NEW IN 2025: The 2025 Bay State Games Wrestling Tournament will have the following policies:

The tournament will be a hard cap of wrestlers, regardless of division. Once the cap is met, no additional wrestlers will be accepted. The cap will be posted when registration opens.
If the cap is met before the registration deadline (June 30, 11:59 p.m.), registration will be closed.
No on-site or late registrations will be accepted.
All athletes must register online at FloWrestling to be entered in the tournament

Eligibility

An athlete must meet one of the following criteria:

A full-time resident of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, New York, Rhode Island, Connecticut, or Vermont.
A full-time student at a recognized academic institution in one of the above states
A full-time member of an MA, NH, ME, NY, RI, CT or VT-based Wrestling club

Boys Junior I: 5th & 6th Grade
Boys Junior II: 7th & 8th Grade*
Boys Scholastic: 9th - 11th Grade**
Girls Scholastic: 8th - 11th Grade **
Men's Open: 12th Grade and athletes age 19+
Women's Open: 12th Grade and athletes age 19+

*8th graders (as of the 2024-2025 academic year) may compete in the 7th/8th-grade division OR the Scholastic Division but, NOT BOTH. 8th graders who intend on competing in the scholastic division must register on or before July 5th or they will only have the option of competing in the 7th/8th-grade division.

**Athletes in the Scholastic division must be under age 19. Athletes in the Junior division must be under age 16.

All ages are as of the first day of competition and all grade areas of the 2024-2025 academic year.

24 weight classes will be determined contingent upon the weights of registered athletes. Only 208 athletes will be accepted. Please write weight on the application

Scholastic

Registration 7:00 a.m.

Start 8:00 a.m.

*weigh in must be done prior to the competition at a weigh-in site.

Open

Registration/Weigh-in 9:00- 10:30 a.m.

Start 12:00 p.m.

*all wrestlers must check in at the registration table prior to weigh in.

Junior

Registration/Weigh-in 10:00 -11:30 a.m.

Start 1:00 p.m.

*all wrestlers must check in at the registration table prior to weigh in.

All (Boys and Girls) Scholastic Divisions will have Satellite weigh-ins at various locations around Massachusetts and their surrounding states before the tournament
No on-Site Weigh-Ins for Scholastics
The Middle School and Open Division will have on-site weigh-ins the day of the tournament at Game On Fitchburg
Last chance weigh-in available on (Date and location TBD) with Jim Maher (Must help with mat setup)

Wrestling Style

Folkstyle: Boys Junior I, Boys Junior II, Boys Scholastic, Girls Scholastic, Mens Open
Freestyle: Womens Open

Bay State Games will use the KAP Wrestling Tournament Management System
Massachusetts club championship awards will be given to wrestling clubs with highest participation and points totals
Club championship award will also be given to the out of state wrestling club with the highest participation and point total.

2026 State Games of America

The 2025 Bay State Games Wrestling competition serves as a qualifier for the 2026 State Games of America. All medalists (gold, silver, and bronze) in this event will qualify for the 2026 State Games of America in State College, PA.

The 2026 State Games of America will be hosted by the Keystone State Games and Happy Valley Sports & Entertainment Alliance.
